Hi Hemi,

Since my daughter doesn't study in public school yet, I cannot give you comment on 校風, but you can see the info on 成績 here:

The school in the apartment you wanna buy would be Doncrest Public School. The result was 138 in 2399 schools. Not bad. It was 516 in 2005-2006, so it is improving.

Actually you can't really guarante the result of the school because it is changing every year.

However I would say, usually school in new area would be that bad in terms of 校風 in Richmond Hill. Because most of the people move in are well-educated, most of them are immigrant family which concern school performance. This is what I think.

If you really want good performance school, Markham would be your choice - south of 16th Ave, north of hwy 7, between Woodbine and Warden area (Coledale PS #22 and Buyttonville PS #36). Or south of hwy 7, between Markham Road and 9th Line (Roy H Crosby PS #1).

近來我、丈夫及8月個大的bb打算搬屋，想找Markham的apartment，因為聽聞那兒學校網比較scar.好，但最後只找到一間在Richmond hill的apartment(近commerce gate)較乎合自己的budget~

Hi Hemi,

As I know, you can't choose Markham school if you live in Richmond Hill. You have to send your children to their "home" school.

Any parents can confirm that?

據我所知,每個區都有個它自己的school board,他會睇你住邊到而編配中小學給孩子,如果要跨區,都可以申請但要睇個間學校有無學位,無就可能要waiting list(但有些學校連waiting唔會有)

我是新來的媽媽, 我想搬到Markham. 請問各位有沒有地方租 (north of 16th and east of Mccowan), 需要2 or 3 房. 有人說那裏校區很好. Thank you.

我出年大仔(15歲)會回多倫多讀書,初步已找到房子,係在一個aunt的towmhouse一起住,她出租兩間房給我們,地點係markham(該地區應該係讀markville S.S.)她未開租金給我,我打算offer$700,兩間房包水電(廚房share用,但aunt係不煮飯的,她經常出街),租金是否太平?

3kids - difficult to say as not sure how big is the room/townhouse.

if they are locate east of McCowan and north of Highway 7, then the rental is about $1500 for a 3 bedroom townhouse (1800-2000 sq feet) with single car garage. so you will have to think.

我不是租她整間townhouse,面積不太大,實際是租她兩間房(不是套房),跟屋主一齊住,廚房客廳大家共用,她說如整間屋出租可租$1500(跟你說法差不多)
等我11月中過去再細看她的房子及周圍地方,配那間學校才決定offer高少少o勒
(她說5年前22萬買回來的)
