I've applied for Subclass 136 as accountant in Aug 07
-together with my 2 child of 3 month & 2 years old.
Recently, I received email for medical examination.
The PR is supposed to be granted very soon.
If I go to oz, it is for better education & life for child & let them have choice & alternatives other than HK. But I have to give up my golden age of working in HK.
However, my husband never want to go to oz & he did not apply for it.
Questions urgently need answered, pls help:
1. How many years to live in oz, in order to be citizen?
2 or 4 years out of 5 years?
2. how to become citizen for me & my 2 child? take English exam?
3. how's job market in oz for accountant? Is it easy to find permanent accounting job or I can only find casual jobs with my PR status?the salary enough for my 2 child & me? (we can live in my mum house).
4. Any baby bonus or 'milk subsidize' for my child? How much per month?
5. what age do child go to school? when should me bring the child to oz for migration? any nursery school? or I ask my relatives to take care of my child?
6. for PR, any medical benefit for visiting doctor/ hospital?
esp my child?
7. for PR, any government subsidize for buying house there?
8. for PR, any government subsidize for unemployed (if I cannot find a job there)?

Thanks for your advice & input.
A few follow up questions:
1. I am not sure on my child part. if I go to OZ by myself and become citizen, my kids no need to stay in OZ for 4 years? coz you mentioned:
The child under 16 years old can apply citizenship with one of the parent. The kids need not to fulfil the residence requirement and exempt from the Citizenship Test.
2. I am ACCA & HKICPA member. To work in OZ, is it necessary to study Australian law/ accounting? or become OZ qualified accountant?
3. My friend in OZ told me I am entitled to child care benefit, which will depend on how much I earn, if I earn below $36000AUD a year, I am entitled to 100% child care rebate. so the government will give me back the money paid for childcare. And I also can apply for family tax benefit and rent assistance which is about $300 per fortnight.
I may give you some insights but may not be too accurate as I am still "applying" PR, not a citizen:
Q2. I am ACCA & HKICPA member. To work in OZ, is it necessary to study Australian law/ accounting? or become OZ qualified accountant?
A2. If you want to retain your CPA membership and recognition in Oz, you have to lodge application to ICCA in Oz for proving your CPA status in Oz. In my case, this proof have been made before we sent the migration application. (Because for normal procedure, we should gather all the supporting documents, like the proof of occupation in MODL, prior to migration application lodgement.)
People said that finding an accouting job in Oz is not too difficult. But my friend, who move to Oz not more than 1 yr, said they emphasized on "local experience", even though you have professionalism. That's her difficulty. And racial discrimination is unavoidable in working place.
BTW, sorry for my ask: have you deeply discussed with your hubby about migration? Despite better education there, I think an thorough family life (with Daddy, Mommy and the kids living together) is much more important.
