請問你地覺得加拿大好d或澳洲好d呢?
因我剛從香港移民過加拿大, 但於澳洲讀書,
覺得澳洲天氣和人都好d, 所以好掛住澳洲,
請問各位媽媽的意見?

my 66 studied in Australia before, but end up he choose to migrate to Canada as he said racism is far less in Canada (at least in Toronto) and more job opportunities then in Australia.

Yes, I am the one. Studied in Melbourne in 95-97 and migrate to Vancouver in 2003 til now.
Personally I dont like Australia as they are more racist, but different people may have different opinion.

Just wonder what bring you here and which part of Canada you are in?
I came here because of my husband. He is foreigner and he cannot survive in Hong Kong due to career limitation. We met when we were in school and he followed me back to Hong Kong after graduate. Then we applied to migrate to Canada as I dont like Australia.

My husband is opposite as he loves Australia. He always say he wants to go back to Australia one day. As he has strong US accent and you know how much Aussie pick on accent, right?

Yes, weather wise, Austrlia is better as Canada is more on the cold side. Even I am on the warmest side of Canada, I still dont like the weather here.

Friendlyness....it depends on how you mix with people, but I like Canada as it is more diverse in terms of people compare to Australia.

Hi Elly,
I was at Box Hill but then transfer to RMIT. I also studying tourism and you should know my husband, if you still have memory about your classmates. He was also in Holmesglen with you the same time and he is the one who won the best student of the year in 97. I was there in the ceremony. When I mentioned your name, he said he remember you.
What brought you here? My husband remembered you were dating a Korean guy, then what happened? He asked if I can have your email as he wants to write to you about all other classmates. Do you mind to PM me?
Are you working in tourism field now? I am as well as my husband. How is your life in Vancouver? Do you miss Melbourne? I am very busy everyday as I am working full time and we have no relatives here to help out. Everyday I have to drop off my son to daycare and drop my daughter to school, then pick them up. Plus shopping, activities and housework.... my husband is going to business trip soon....not sure if I can manage all.

I was in Melbourne and studied at Monash in 94-96. I was immigrated to Canada in 2005. I prefer to live in Melbourne than Vancouver. The weather is nice, people are nice, public transport is better than here!

I'll have my first Baby next April!

My husband was studied in Melbourne, too. He likes Australia very much and would like to go to live if possible.

Just curious if you both graduated in Australia and perfer Australia, why you apply to come here? Are you regrettimg now?

Does your degree recognized? Ours are not and currently my husband is studying part time in order to further his career.

Regarding the transportation, yes, I agree Melbourne has better transportation but Toronto is similar I guess. Vancouver is a small city compare to Melbourne and that's why our transportation system is not so good. In fact, I live along the skytrain station and I dont feel much different and we are quite happy about it.

Just because my husband's family was immigrated to here, then I was followed him.....
Regret? No, but I miss my family in HK very much especially we can't share our daily life often.

I don't know whether our degrees are recognized or not, I'm a secretary and my husband is working in insurance field, his job needs to continue study to further the career.

As I live in Richmond and I don't drive, I think the transportation here is not convenience for me.

I just wonder how you do shopping in Richmond without car? I live in Burnaby and I can do all shopping in Metrotown without problem, but as far as I know, Richmond shopping malls are spreading everywhere and where you do grocery shopping?
If you are in Richmond, I think the life style is very similar to HK as Chinese restaurants are everywhere. Sometimes I think it is more than you can find in Hong Kong!
Once you have a child, it is better to have a car. It is expensive to keep a car but it seems necessary if you have kids. Go to visit the doctor(especially when baby is very young), playgroup, Chinese class, shop more often as you need to buy diapers and all sort of baby things. We bought our car because we cannot make it to daycare and go to work and now it is important as we can send my daughter to different classes/activities.
