Not really sure about the price, maybe around $2500?! I bought it on the first day of Sogo when on sale. It usually ran out of stock very soon during on sale. It may be expensive, but I think it is worth for my family use. I guess it can use quiet a long period.
To answer your question, I took out the wok and placed it on the gas stove. It sat on the stove perfectly.
