有冇人俾工人上去勞工處告過? I was sued by the first maid for not paying the 1 mth notice. The case hung on for several mths and we settled out of court at the end, for an amount less than the 1mth's salary.
We were not willing to pay the maid mainly because we didn't think she deserved it. We wouldn't make it easy for the maids who just come for a short trip and always count on a free ticket and an extra mth's salary to go back home. They always talk about what they are entitled to according to the law, but they never talk about what they should do according to the law and the contract.
Within the first month, your sister-in-law does not require to pay for the one month notice when she fires the new maid.

The commission is paid upon we give salary (i.e $3000 X 7months). If a maid goes back their own country anytime, she does not have to pay the agent any more!
If someone purposely come to HK and do that to the employer, she can gain a round-trip ticket and 1 month salary easily! There is no protection for employer.... :( But the employer loses time, $ and trust....
