My maid's contract will be end in the mid of Sept. I have introduced my maid to my friend, and she want to employ her.
But the problem is my maid doesn't want to go to the existing agent to sign another new contract as that agent is quiet expensive. They charged $4000 for the agency fee for both my maid and the employer. I called to the agent and asked them to lower the agency fee, they quote me $3500 each party.
By the way, I don't want to involve to their new contract. I think they can handle even they want to choose a new agent.
I have a few question:
1. The agent asked me to sent them a termination letter, and told me no need to give my maid. What should I do?
2. If I choose not sent the agent the termination letter, I give it to my maid, and also the 14 days salary & the air ticket (by cash). Anything I need to consider?
Please give me some advice.
It is not clear about your case. In general, for Filippino maid,
1) You do not need to give the termination letter to the agent
2) You should give a release letter to the maid when she complete the contract.
3) No need to go the agent. The new employer and the maid can do it themselves and is very easy.
4) Just ask them to go to a) the immigration tower in Wanchai to get a set of forms, in the second floor - follow the procedure there. and go to b) the Philippine Consultate, the Name Hire section to get the instructions - follows the procedures.
Then your friend will do without going via an agent. However, if indonesian maid, you much do it via an agent as the Indonesian Consultate does not accept individual to handle. PM me if you need further information.
