Come back from Krabi

We had been to Krbai on last Sunday for five days. It tooks us two and half hours travel to that hotel - Pimalai Resort and Spa. The resort is in the South of Krabi and face to the sea and the rooms are all in bungalow type. The rooms that I stay is face to the beach, it's very lovely and quite. In the morning, walk around the spa and swim at the pool or go to beach to catch little crab with the kid. Very relax !

But if yu wish to travel to the town to have a drink or disco, sorry, that's not the place where yu should go !

There are not many discussions on Krabi at BK. Glad to hear that you have been there recently. I have a few questions and am delighted if you would give me some advices.

(1) Is there a direct flight from HK to Krabi or need to change flight at Bangkok? How many hours for the journey(s)?

(2) Are there any diving or snorkeling facilities at Pimalai Resort and Spa? Have you taken spa treatment at Pimalai? If so, any comment?

(3) How do you rate Krabi in comparison with Phuket or other places for sun & sea ?

(4) Any website(s) for information on Krabi.

Dear KristyMum,

1) It need to takes flight from Bangkok - I depart frm HKG at 08h00 (Thai Airways) arrive Bangkok at 09h30 and the flight to Krabi is 12h30 and arrives Krabi at 14h00. As I know there's no direct flight from HK to Krabi and there is only two flights from Krabi to Bangkok - one is 11h00 and 14h30. If yu wish to go there you need to book advance as always full.

2) diving or snorkeling facilities - Yu can join a tour from 11h00 to 18h00 to tour around the three islands (depends on weather) or canoelling (B1800)

I took a moor mud treatment - as it rain I cannot take the flower bath (the bath located outside the spa room) and the mud treatment, my rate is so so.

3) As I said if yu wish to have fun and nightlife - Phuket is your choice. Krabi especially Pimalai Resort and Spa give yu a place for total relax forget all the pressure that yu have in HK. Just sleep and rest

4) Web site - I search from yahoo

My colleague also been to Krabi and stay in Martime Resort and Spa - two hours drive from Krabi and I think similar type of resotr with Pamalai

Thank you for your information. A quiet place is fine with me but another 2-3 hrs drive after 4 hrs flight is a problem. The road condition in Krabi isn't good, right? Do you know any good resort that is located closer to the airport? Sorry for so many questions as none of my friends have been to Krabi.

No trouble at all.

Yes, the road to the resort is so muddy and uneven and not's that comfortable. Yu can try the Sheraton which I know is quite near to the Airport. I know there is a mum stay in that hotel the same time as me.
