speed = distance/time, time = distance/speed, distance = time x speed

After 10 min, Sophie has already walked 6km/60m x 10m = 1km.

Let xkm be the distance that Dave has to go to catch up with Sophie.

The time that Dave has to spend to catch up with Sophie = (x/15) h

Dave's distance = Sophie's distance
x = 1 + (x/15) x 6
x = 1 + 2x/5
5x = 5 + 2x
3x = 5
x = 5/3

So Dave has to travel 5/3 km to catch up with Sophie.
