mine was 10 years old, but it was dead la. now using VAX. For me, I think Dyson is much better!

Did it die suddenly without any sign? Mine was 9, getting worried now after u said yours died at 10!

im using vax with the carpet cleaner as well, maybe its about a year old only, so still in a good working condition!!

It became weaker and weaker and dead. But it was 10 years olds la, so no complaints. If this Vax died, I will buy Dyson again!

Mine hadn't bought any spare parts over the years. What about yours Cissie?

Yes it may seem expensive in the beginning but u will see how cleans it make the house, u will think it worths it!

yes mine is upright. mine doesn't need any bag. it is a bit dusty when emptying the dust without the bag. But it saves money without buying the bags!

no, I didn't need to buy any spare parts too. mine was bagless as well, but it wasn't upright. It may sounds expensive, but it really worth it.

Our place is small so can't use an upright vacuum cleaner, otherwise I would definitely go for a Dyson!

I use Hoover lor, 3-4 years old, still good probably because we don't use it much.

I think Riko's hoover is very heavily used and it is still going strong, so Dyson must be very very very...god la!

BTW, anybody uses a hand-held one, not for car cleaning but for the house? I wanted to get one (compact but good suction power) so that I can do small bits of cleaning myself instead of having to ask hubby to hoover everytime...

i'm using Philips Mini Vac FC6050 (3.6V), brought it from HK, used HSBC points to get it, surprisingly very good. Just saw some in Big B last couple weeks, with different colour (i guess different power, check before your purchase) the design looks nice too.

I always feel that here, in general, Phillips is not very popular, esp small electrical appliances. I do like it a lot (along with Braun) but they are so hard to find and not many choices!
Suppose the HSBC promotion has ended??
