SHANGRI-LA RASA RIA RESORT is better for kids as there is a very nice swimming pool with many slide, kids club and tours (inside of hotel). eg. walking in forest with kids, see sabah money. I regret not stay in SHANGRI-LA RASA RIA RESORT but we stay in STAR. There is more more activities to stay here than STAR.
Actually, there is far but worth to go into RASA RIA because a new shopping mall is built and named '1 Borneo'. You can take taxi to the hypermall for eating.
I also take time to eat in RASA RIA and its restarurant is not expensive and very attractive for kids.
If you plan ---just in hotel, RASA RIA must your choice. If you need to go everywhere from RASA RIA, you must spend $$ in transport. Except you have local driver.
Note: the beach has big wave in RASA RIA which is not for kids.
