i bought at Little Montessorian at sogo 6/F. i bought 2 items in the very beginning:

1) (around $300) 1 dimension block (level 1) to train bb the feeling of thickness. and to use 3 fingers to hold things. then 2 fingers.
2) (around $250) 1 set of multi-colour blocks (with hole) with strings. this can introduce bb to different colours and to use the string to link the blocks.

my bb started when he was 8 months old. at 10-month, he could use 2 fingers to hold blueberry and put it into his month.

i bought level 2 of the dimension block already but yet introduced to my bb.

Have u considered the family set available on line and the cost is ~$ 1800?

If no, why not?

i have considered to buy online cos it's very cheap and has a full set. however, i didn't do it cos i am afraid the quality is not good. as bb is still too young that loves to put everything into month. if the colour is easy to be removed, it affects bb's health.

and, i am not sure if bb likes this concept or if i understand the way to teach. the saleslady (susanne) at sogo is so nice that welcome me to ask her if needs help. and she didn't push me to buy whole set. she suggested me to buy 1 or 2 items to test if bb likes it. if it's good, then to consider to buy a whole set.

Thank you very much. Do you think Sogo is the best display room for Montessori sets?

As i'm living at NT and working at Kln side, any else place i can go to take a look on it?

hi mamamee,

to be honest, sogo's one is really not a good place for you to understand montessori cos it's so small.

i learnt montessori when i went to bb education expo in feb09, i spent 1.5 hours to understand it. the promoter (montessori hk) explained so detailed. but since i was 1st time to listen and it's too expensive, $25xxx/set (sensational part). i really didn't want to commit just after 1.5 hours. then i searched online for the products as well as the discussion forum of other mothers about montessori, then i went to buy at sogo.

i don't buy at other toys shop cos they sell the products only. but sogo shop has it's own company promoter, she can tell you how to play and the purpose of each item. it's really not a cheap toy (if buy more and more), i think after sale service is important to me.

btw, how old is your baby?

My daughter is now 1 year old. May be it is the right time to explore more sensitional learning apparatus.

Do the company counter in Sogo and the expo are the same company?
