Regardless of public / private system in Hong Kong, they should accept and consider all your previous maternity check documents from Aus.
Just expect the maternity checks at public and private systems in Hong Kong to take a lot longer than in Aus! Waiting time could be an 1-2 hours each time depending on which private dr you go to (some are super popular and pop out for emergencies) , usually at public hospitals each time you go for a check up is at least 2-3 hours time spent there!
You can just approach any private obstetrician to set up an appointment and for the public system, you will need to decide which public hospital you want to attend (and give birth at). E.g. in my case I was moving and didn't have a fixed permanent address (plus I didn't want to go to my local one, so I approached one in HK island Queen Mary - they took me in for the maternity checks and will I can give birth there, but they warned me if I am to call an ambulance and I'm still living in say New Territories, they will send me to the nearest hospital i.e. Tuen Mun hospital. So if I have any emergencies, and I want to to back to QM, I just take my own taxi / Uber there )
- I just have a preference for the public hospital as some have better reputations than others.

thank you for sharing sis! this is very informative and helpful, really appreciate it.
My parents actually lives in Tuen Mun so I might go TM hospital for maternity checks coz it's closer.
My husband was thinking about private hospitals coz the environment is much better, e.g. better customer services and I can have my own room etc, but it's too far from home and in case any emergency they will transfer me to a public hospital anyway...
so I'm still deciding whether to go public or private...
Did you just download the 預約通app and make appointments with both the public hospital and a private obstetrician for maternity checks?
