大家好!! bb在美國出世,但我們要回香港6年後才回美國,請問我要幫bb辦香港居留權嗎?因為她只有90天留港期。如果辦會否影響bb美國citizen的資格?

It depends on the parents status when the baby was born. See Q&A 10 in the link below.

如baba / mama 是但一個有香港居留權 then 可以申請bb都有香港居留權!

如果辦不會否影響bb美國citizen的資格.

If baba/mama 是但一個有香港居留權 but they had green card/US citizenship (for example) when bb was born (if bb born after 1997), then bb may not have right of abode in HK.

But either apply other place's citizenship or right of abode won't affect bb's US citizenship's status.

hi, I just went to the Waichai immigration department yesterday. I ask the officer if mom and dad have HK permanent ID, but baby born in US, can I apply HK ID for the baby? He says if mom and dad have HK permanent ID and they are not permanent stay in US, you can apply . He give me the form is ROP 145 Application for verification of Eligibility for Permanent Identity Card.

that is the same as we talked from the begining..
No matter you have HK 3star ID card.
If you have green card or citizenship while your baby was born, your baby will not get the 香港居留權.
You can apply the dependent visa for your child. which last for 6 months. If you insist to get the 香港居留權 for your child, your child need to live in HK (continous for 7 years) in order to receive HK ID even you and/or your spouse have HK 3 stars ID card.
Even you did not have any immigrant status while your child was born in US.. (like me with K3 while Amanda was born), however, I have a job in US. They did not give Amanda a status in HK either..
because Amanda was not intend to live in HK.
