I would stay in US 生BB if 有保險 cover because the hospital here seems nicer than the hospital in HK (of course not compare with those super expensive hospital in HK la). I had pretty good experience here to deliver my son: I had a room by myself and they allow my hubby to stay overnight with me. I also receive some diaper, formular sample, lotion, breast milk pump when I ready to go home; I also called the nurse for a sandwich at 1am when I felt hungry. I only need to pay US$100 for all those services (the bill shows that it should be US$20,000 if no insurance).
i have a couple friends (US citizen and green-card holder) plan to give birth in HK (at the Baptist hospital) for their 2nd pregnancy. the main reason is becoz their own parents are in HK and it's easier to hire nannies there. the husband will go back to HK at least a few weeks before the due date and stay for at least a couple months after the bb is borned.
i also heard from my friends and relatives that it's more luxurious to give birth in HK (provided that you're staying at the private hospitals). public hospitals might not be bad at all too but that i'm not sure ...
If you are a HK resident, give birth in HK will allow your baby to become a HK resident as well. In the meantime, he/she will be a US citizen as well you are a US citizen. This point can be a good point to be consider as well.
i think insurance and support will be the most important as well...
well, the in-laws will not be as good as your own parents, but i guess better than nothing...also i think the most you will need will be your hubby, so if your hubby is there, it should be fine for you to give birth in the states....IMO only tho....
