This is what so called "rosumer Digital Camera",

I'm absolutely agree with Stccmc, if you can afford more than 6K for a new DC, then go ahead with the DSLR, Pro-sumer is just a temp product, you can see all the company are putting so much effort on the DSLR. You will not feel regret to go along with a DSLR, for me I'll suggest you to pick the D70 kit set for your basic gear.

stccmc is referring to Canon's 300D.

Actually there is lot of brands now producing beginner level DSLR, like Canon's 300D, Nikon D70, Pentax IstDs and Olympus's E300. The entry price should be around HK$6-7k. However, you may need to spend more for upgrading the lens and flash etc. But that can be done after you have familier with the camera.

Canon Pro1 的口碑不甚好。 連 Canon fans 都唔多捧場。 以這價錢， 買入門級數碼單鏡反光機 (DSLR) 真是較有成本效益。 入門級 DSLR 的質素比 prosummer 級 DC 仔更佳。 當然日後在鏡頭方面的投資是在所難免。 一支靚鏡頭貴過部機是很平常的事， 但亦可以平有平玩。

如果唔考慮用 DSLR 的話以 Pro 1 的價錢我會買 Panasonic 的 LC1。 呢部機的像素及長焦能力須不及一眾 8 mega pixel 機但成像質素絕對令人讚嘆。 外型及做工亦很有專業機的風範。 可以諗諗。
