Help!How to handle flying long trip with 2yrs old

I'm planning to fly back to Canada with my 2yrs old boy by myself(about 22hrs fright). I'm extemely worried that he'll disturb the hold plan with his tantrum. He'll cry & scream out loud if I don't give him what he wants. He can not sit still and love to run around. I wonder how I can eat/sleep and go to the toilet. Because he's extremely attached to me. Even his daddy can not calm him down whenever I go to the toilet in shopping mall. Any mom has this experience? Pls help!!!!

Which city will u go to? 22hr? I can't believe it. Direct fright? I brought my daughter to NY when she was 21 months, it only took 15 and a 1/2 hours. I advise u that don't let your kid sleep before the plane took off. Then u will have about 10 hour rest.

Bring a couple of new toys to draw his attention. Bring a MP3 with lots of 兒歌 to let him listen (and play with). I think all the new things can attract his attention and calm him down for a few hours.

Yes, when I took my son to US (he was 21 months old then), I was dreading that too. I brought a whole bag full of small toys, snacks, CDs, juice, even medicine to make him sleepy (as a last resort, just in case) but I ended up bringing almost the whole bag back to HK untouched becuase he became very interested with the small screen TV on the plane, and also he slept quite well throughout the plane ride, and from that time onward I had no problem with taking him on long flights.

I will have the same concern in July, I will be traveling with my son and my Mother to Toronto in July, around 15.5 hrs of flight. I hate this long haul flight myself too, I don't know how to entertain my son and take care of my Mom at the same time in the flight. My son will be almost 3 when we travel.

Pls share your experience when you done with your trip. How long will you be staying in Canada ?

I think Canada is a good place for children, u can enjoy a lot of outdoor activities with you children and it will be a valuable experience for children because they will be able to do a lot of things which they cannot enjoy in HK, like picking fresh fruit, visiting Zoo and Fram, BBQ whenever you want at the back yard, shopping in SUPERmarket etc.

Thank you all mom's suggestions. By the way, is it the 1st roll sit's handle can not be lift-up ? Some suggest to book 2nd roll sit, because the sit's handle can be lifted-up for the child to sleep. Pls advise, thanks.

I'm planning to fly to Montreal with my boy this May, and will plan to stay for 3 months to visit his grandparents. I will surely share my experience when I'm done with my trip. I hope he'll behave throughout the journey!
