二來UPGRADE 既空間有限

怕人偏. 所以想買廠機.

$7,400 咁貴，唔包 MON，應該包 Windows 同 Office， AntiVirus，其他 Software。

只想講，砌機一樣可以好可靠。

我咁耐都係自己砌機, 不過而家都同你差唔多, 要買部俾老婆用, 你的hp是否用 "915g" chipset, 因為915g我覺得係而家價錢最扺買的, 它可以行快d嘅775的cpu, ddr2 or ddr400 dual channel ram, pci-e vga card (就算係內置的vga都唔差, 可支援directx 9), 又有內置的usb2.0, firewire1394和行快d的lancard, 仲有支持sata hard disk(有d有埋raid)和sound card, 都差多現在流行嘅嘢都有齊, 我都知仲有可能加落去

公司有齊幾隻dell, hp(compaq), ibm廠機, 我首選dell, 最耐用和夠stable, 但好似無中文windows(celeron除外), 次選hp, 特別係hp收購的compaq, 我就一定唔會揀ibm, 我公司幾代的ibm都好差, hard disk乘日壞, 又時常hang機, 內部的零件仲係聯合國...雜牌軍

最後我買咗部叫shuttle barebone pc, 好細部外型好靚, 行915g (model xpc sb83g5), 我買的係機箱($2750)再砌中價件, 我見都有砌好的(唔包mon ~$5300), 估唔到速度好快(俾佢嚇親), 快過我部自己精選貴價大機行915p好多, 暫時都好好, 好stable, 不過唔知come唔come, 佢用ice技術散熱, 都幾掂, 你可以考慮下

I want use 砌機 in the first place. I'm also impress by the appearance of the barebone PC (see the cool aluminium casing). My only concern is that I thought it might not be very stable. Furthermore, genuine software are not 'cheap'.

Having read your email, I decide to try a barebone PC on the following configuration -

"915g" chipset,
775的cpu (3.x G),
ddr2 or ddr400 dual channel ram (which one is better?),
wireless lan
pci-e vga card,
置的usb2.0, firewire1394
和行快d的 lancard?,
120 G hard disk
8x DVD writer

price?
Any further advice?

Dear tatnet,

1. ddr2 ram is much fast than ddr400 but is more expensive

2. pci-e vga card
if you are playing with game, Geforce6600 is popular(~1100), but for game requires more resources, Geforce6600GT (~1500) is the most popular VGA card
915G built in pci card is gma900 which support directx 9

3 built in lancard with 915G
some built in with lan 10/100 and some built in with 10/100/1000 lan card (Faster)

4. built in sound card
usually built in with 5.1 channel sound card

5. hard disk
SATA type is faster than the traditional P-ATA type
915G supports two type of hard disk
if you buy the hard disk, I recommend SATA 160G as the Cost/capacity is more economical

6. DVD RW
the most popular DVD-RW is 16X (~$700-800)

My wife's computer is Shuttle PCSB83G5, I buy the case(with motherboard) in Videocom company ltd (tel:2360-1286) in 黃金商場, they have a finished one (with cpu.....), you can ask the spec. and the price

Shuttle XPC SB83G5 spec.

drawback
1. when I start the PC, the PC Smart fan starts at full speed and then change to slow speed, I feel suprise with it at first

2. 1 PCI expansion slot only
3. only support ddr ram

I also 2 Dell models with 915G, 4700(normal size) and 4700C (compact size), they comes with traditional Windows XP sp2, you can see the spec below
