My ex-yan yan also got the same. I had brought her to see totally 3 doctors (5 times). I had also brought her to have a blood test as advised by the 3 doctors to see if she had 濾風濕關節炎 but no indication. However, 2 months ago, she said that she was feeling very painful with her arm (from wrist to arm) and requested to return to Indo. At last, I let her go, though both my husband and I quite like her as she was a very smart maid. For the reimbursement claim, I could claimed $200 from my insurance co for the blood text costed $240. Thus, no share had been made with my maid. Hope this can help.
Thank you very much to share your experience. I called Dao Heng Insurance, one of the staff said I could not claim for the blood test except she needed to go to the hospital due to illness. I don't know whether she really want to go back Phillipine or not?? As she promised to renew the new contract, it seems she want to stay in HK for next 2 years.
I have my maid's insurance with QBE via Wing Lung. Hope you don't mind my advice is to change another if possible. Its because I think both you and your maid may not know when the same problem will happen again. For my case, as my husband and I would like to keep my ex-maid at the very beginning and didn't mind if she only feel a little painful sometimes. However, she felt so uncomfortable suddenly and had to left so rush. At last I had to apply leave again urgently from my boss to wait the 2nd maid to come. It really made me 手足無措. Moreoever, if you keep her, its a little bit like a bomb since you don't know what kind of sickness she has. It may cause a lot of medical expenses and waste a lot a time to take care your maid. Though it seems that my advice is a little 不近人情 but I think you must take into account if my same case really happen to you. For my case, as my maid who ask to leave by herself, she should give me 1 month notice or give me 1 month payment. However I had not request her to do so and I bought her a return ticket to Indo.
