If I remember correctly, BB starts to 認人 around this age, they start to build the sense of 安全感.
I think your baby is just feeling more 安全 when you are around.
This is common for this age, no need to worry.
Regarding 有咩方法令佢乖d, what I read is that you need to satisfy his need of 安全感, as this affects his future development. You could try to find what is his "mascot" (吉祥物), I read from books saying that baby at this stage will identify one object as his mascot, he will feel very safe and comfortable if he sees/holds this mascot. Some babies will have "his favourite blanket" or "his favourite toy car" as their mascot.... for example,
(1) my college classmate has "pillow" as her mascot, for which she used that same "pillow" for over 30 years (when I met her at college, that pillow was nearly black in color.... )
(2) my elder niece likes zipper
(3) my younger niece likes 嘜頭
