My bun has worked with me for 2 months. So far, she is the best maid I have hired (I have hired 10 maids before in 4.5 years).

Let me tell you the work performance about my bun:
1) she follows 90% of the daily schedule and I think that's very good
2) she will do things that are not in the schedule when she has spare time during the weekends as we don't need to cook in the weekends, e.g. she will clean my shoes (quite nice and shiny)
3) she smiles to us all the time and not much black face
4) she doesn't waste food or steal food, she will only eat what we give to her. My pack of 8kg rice is still not finished within a month!!! In the past, our ex maid finished 1 pack of 8kg in about 3 wks!
5) she doesn't use her phone during work hours, if she needs to call home, she will ask my permission first.

But she resigned last night because her father is in hospital and her sister needs to take care of him. My maid's husband also works overseas, so no one takes care of their 3 kids. Her sister lives with them to take care of the 3 kids, but now her sister has to go to hospital so she can't take care of the kids.

My maid's son, aged 11 has turned 'bad' since no one takes care of him. He smokes and goes out without asking permission.

My maid actually has hired 2 maids to take care of the 3 kids at home already. (1 maid to take care of the children and 1 maid to do the housework & cooking). Her sister goes to work and comes home at night.

So my maid wanted to go home and take care of her kids!!

What shall I do?????
I want to keep her!

now her work is very bad!!!!!!! e.g. I asked her to cut the pumpkin for me, but she cut the wrong thing!!!!!

I suggested to her that she should go home for 1 week and see how the situation is and come back. She asked me 'Mom, will u trust me that I will come back?' (I have 'o' mouth to her!!! What can I say?!)

My husband said to her that if she comes back, we will increase her salary to $4580. (now it's $3580) With the extra $1000, she can hire a teacher to watch her son.

She said she has to think about this.

So, what shall I do?

1) shall I let her resign and find a new maid? (but I am afraid the next one will be very bad!! as I have had 10 bad maids already!!!)

2) shall I wait for her to come back? But she might not come back!!!!

Was it a typo? You typed $1000 difference but from the figure you gave, it was only $100.

Anyway, I wont keep her. I know it is difficult to let go but lets face the facts la...

My ex-bun 同 your bun 一樣, her performance is also good.做左一年唔夠就resign,要返菲律賓,話佢阿爸入左醫院,我叫佢唔好resign,俾來回機票佢返去菲律賓2個星期,同early renew左兩年contract,後來佢係有返黎HK,
返黎後頭半年her performance is good.但後來問我借左三次錢,第一次HK$6,000,第二次HK$10,000,第三次我冇借俾佢,佢就開始黑面.而且一年後佢又話resign.所以你考慮下應唔應該俾佢返去菲律賓及increase her salary to HK$4,580.

仲有佢走左之後,有三間財務公司追佢數.

只係做左2個月唔可以咁快講呢個係個好工人, 日久見人心嘛. 比我就尤得佢走喇, 你而家加佢1000蚊, 之後佢見呢招work又跳草裙舞, 咁你加得幾多次?

佢老公oversea工作,即係賺到錢啦.屋企有兩個工人湊仔,佢跟本係菲律賓做太太,佢來香港打工都係見識一下,當去旅行,妳比幾$留佢都無用啦,佢跟本係玩夠想返屋企做返太太,唔想服待太太妳呀

Actually she also told me that she wanted to resign when she was here 1 month with us!!!!! We asked her to stay!!

I think I can't take it anymore if she told me to resign the 3rd time!!!

就算佢講嘅嘢全部都係真, 下次都唔好一開口就加一千, 逐$2-300 咁加 ........ 嚟對抗佢每幾個月講一次resign！
