I have a part-time helper who helped me once or twice a week. Every time, when she comes, I just tell her what she needs to finish that day. If the time allows, she will complete all the works.
I don't think you need to give her a list. However, for the first few times, it is better for you to stay at home and watch her doing the jobs. After finished, please check all the houseworks that she completed.
FYI, my first part-time helper was very bad. She worked very, very slow. She spent about 1/2-1 hour to clean up my kitchen. But we seldom cook and use the kitchen....Hence, after two times, I change another one.
