Need to pay the levy again when not terminate the existing one and apply for a n
Today, immigration call me to pay the levy again when not terminate the existing maid and apply for a new one. The remaining levy cannot be applied to the new one if I do not terminate the current maid before the new one visa issue. I have paid total $9600 for two year contract already and just used the current maid for 1.25 year. This mean I lost $4000!!!!!
Re: Need to pay the levy again when not terminate the existing one and apply for
Yes. I have the same case with you. I want to replace my current domestic helper with a another maid referred by my friend. I have just renewed her contract and paid the levy for half year (lucky to me). Of course, I will not let my current maid know that I will terminate her contract until the new one is ready to work in my home. However, the agent told me that the levy cannot be transferred to the new one unless I terminate my current maid before I submit the visa application for my new one.
So ridiculous of t Immigration Dept as they only want their job easier and ignore employers' financial burden.

I want to have an update on the levy.
I just received a call from Immigration, the officer updated me that as long as I terminate my current maid before the immigration issue the working visa to my new maid, the levy paid could be carried forward to the new maid's contract (ie. I will terminate my existing maid at 28 May since the new maid will end the contract with her existing employer on 29 May and then come to my home on the same date, however, Immigration confirmed to me that they will interview my maid on 2 June and most likely will issue the visa on the same date, she also reminded me that the maid can come to my home on 29 May, but she can't work before the issue of the visa, so .....)

My case is not the same, you has employed a new maid from HK, mine is from overseas, with no visa issued, my maid cannot come before ahead. It will be a gap in between I fired the current and wait for the new one, so I need to pay the levy again.
