My Indonesian maid's 1st contract will be completed in July 2006. If there's no other sudden issue, I will very likely renew contract with her and I know she likes working with us too.
My daughter will be 2 years old next year when I may need to take my own A.L. to have kindergarten interviews with her. If my helper also takes her 14 annual leave for going back to Indonesia next year, my annual leave is not enough to cover for taking care of my baby.
I'm thinking to ask her to go back to her country this year . That means granting her annual leave one or half year earlier. Is there any problems to my benefits and other concerns? Also, by that time when her contract finishes July next year, I must let her depart HK once again. Anyone can help me answering these? Million thanks.
If you let her go back this year, next year she still need to leave HK after complete her 1st contract. You can let her go to China or Macau for 1 day trip.
My maid had 7 days advance annual leave in early this month due to sudden personal affair. She worked with us 9 months only. My agent told me that normally all maids can only be entitled annual leave after finishing 2 years contract and in my case, she should get no paid leave and bear round trip airfare herself.
In consideration of her truth and working attitude, I allowed her to take advance annual leave and provided her advance contract-end round trip air-ticket for home leave, both were in black and white (including one important term is if she is unable to resume her duty after the date of annual leave, employment contract signed between both parties will be terminated automatically).
Fortunately, she resumed to work today, but has a little bit home sick.
