i just terminated a Filipino Maid. I bot a non-refundable and fixed date ticket. Before issuing the ticket, I asked the agent to ask the maid to sign a letter of consent that she wanted to have an air-ticket with departure on xxxxxx and she will be responsible for any costs of any changes or whatsoever.
If you ask the labour department (which is not helpful to employers), they would say you need to send them back to home anyway and thus even if she does not check in on the agreed time, you still need to buy another ticket. Both from the principal of contract, I have already fulfill my obligation.
