Dear Mrs. So. thank you for organisating this action.
I feel disappointed to my government.
This is a lose - lose - lose situation. 2 years ago, the government deducted domestic helpers salary to HK$3270, but it doesnt mean that we save money, we have to contribute the money to train up those so called "local helpers". But how many of you get benefits from the "local helpers".
Most of the mums are working mums who work long hours in the office, that's why we need someone who can station at our home to take care of our babies and elderlys. We are paying HK$3270/mth, providing 3 meals, bed, and safe environment for the DM. what did we get in return.
If you are lucky, you'll hire a good maid, but what if you are not that lucky, who will get hurt.... we, mums who leave our loving kids with the bad maids.
One more thing is, some of the mums underpay their maid, do you think they will pay back the HK$50 to their maid this time? I don't think so.
The government keep pushing us. I mean the one who are really paying HK$3270/month and contribute $9600 to the government really suffer.
I really hope there is some organisation can help us to voice out, as our voice are often omitted as we are too weak to defence.
