Just need to keep the normal thyroxine (甲狀腺素) level will be alright. Insufficient Thyroxine will cause low IQ in baby. But your doctor will keep monitoring for you. Don't worry.
The maternal risks of hyperthyroidism is pre-eclampsia, cardiac failure, abruptio placentae, anemia, infection and preterm labor.
For the baby, there is a higher rish for abortion, congential malformation, growth restriction, stillbirth and fetal thyrotoxicosis.
It is suggested to take PTU (Propyl Thiouracil) instead of Cartimazole because Cartimazole may cause aplasia cutis. I could n't find the side effect of PTU. Does anyone have such information.
I am in 18 weeks now and the doctor prescribed me 50gsm PTU.
