I am new to Hong Kong and is looking for a good OB that's pro natural delivery. Any recommendations?
I read from the expat forums about Dr. Alex Doo, but he is very expensive. I am after someone that is more reasonable priced since I have no problem communicating in cantonese.

Also, what is a good hospital to delivery?

any advise is appreciated.

養和醫院 Hong Kong Sanatorium is very good, but a bit expensive.

Where do you live? HK or Kowloon side?
If you are living on HK Island, you may check out Dr. Patrick Chan Sai Lok in Central (T:2522 2500). He is a very caring and detailed but charged higher than ordinary. If you wanna search for other doctors, you may go to this website: http://www.hkdoctor.org/

For hospital, if you are looking for private ones, Sanitorium (Happy Valley) and HK Adventist (Stubbs Road) can be considered. I have visited HK Adventist and found the environment quite comfy.

Hi cathygum, thanks for the reply. I live on HK island. Did you deliver with Dr. Patrick Chan? Can you share you experience with him? Which hospital(s) does he deliver in? How much did the total bill come out to?

dear dingdongding,

i haven't delivered yet and therefore couldn't share with you the final cost for the time being. :p dr. chan is the associate doctor at matilda hospital (at the peak). i went to his clinic in central for routine check up (~$800-$900 per visit). he is very detailed and patience to answer all my questions. my friend is also dr. chan's patient. she gave birth at matilda 3 years ago by c-section. Heard that the total cost was around HK$80,000.
