Hi Sasa, Thanks for your information. We will be back in London for good in June and would like to let Tyler to go to school. He will be 20 months old in May. We are trying to find a place in Maide Vale. Any recommendation on good school around that area?
I used to live close to Maida Vale (in fact, St Johns Woods - 1 street away from Maida Vale) last year for 1 year.
I don't know which part of Maida Vale you would be living but if it's closer to St Johns Woods then there's a school near the top of Abercorn Place near the junction of Abbey Road. It is very international as I've seen a lot of children from different nationalities studying there. I don't know what is their age requirement but 20mths may be a bit young. Also, while I was living in London, I found the public library provided a good source of info. There's a booklet which lists the daycentres, nurseries, schools and doctors in the area. There is a public library in St Johns Woods high street and I think there's one in Maida Vale towards Warwick Avenue.
There's a mums and tots group at St Marks Church (corner of Hamilton Terrace and Abercorn Place) every Mon and Wed Aft.
Hi
Thanks for your information and will definitely check out the library when we get there. Heard that nanny is pretty expensive in London, do you have any idea?
depends what you're looking for. Do you want a registered qualified nanny who will just concentrate on looking after your children or one similar to a domestic helper who will do babysitting as well as household chores?
I employed a "mother helper" during my stay in London. Although she was not a qualified nanny but she had some experience with children and she also did my household chores. You will find a lot of postings for nanny/mother helper in the supermarkets notice boards (like Tesco) or the library notice board and window.
