My boy is 10 months and only weight 17 pounds+, doctor said that he is a bit underweight. It seems that he is not interested in eating : milk, cereal, congee, fruits etc etc. He usually have 4 meals per day, 6 oz milk each for breakfast and dinner, however often cannot finish them all, sometimes just take 3 oz and refuse to eat again :( I have tried to cook congee for him a number of times and he just take few bites. Very frustrated! For the other 2 meals, I just mix baby cereal with milk (3 oz) abd baby food for him to eat, it is more convenient, and I agree that baby cereal have more better for baby in terms of their health.
Yes, western bbs dont have congee and they are as healthy as chinese bbs.
The bbs in our area, most of them have already eating sandwiches for lunch about 10 months.
They have yogurt and cheese and not cereal.
Cereal is for breakfast.
Lunch will have sandwiches and dinner have hot food with vege and meat.
Hoyin has congee coz I want him to have rice for dinner in the future.
I think cereal mixed with milk is better than congee.
However, if you dont have different kinds of cereal (for different months eg 4, 6, 9 and 12), bbs will not learn to chew things.
