I think that people are doing too much maintenance on their car without concern over our environment. Businessman won't tell you the truth because they want to make profit. You can do some research on the web, the truth are out there.
For Hondas, manufacturer recommendation for brake fluid replacement interval is 2 yrs irrespective of distance travelled. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, moisture cause the internal parts of the brake system to form oxide. When overheated (normally will not happen for street use), the moisture turn into gaseous state, causing the brake to fail. It should be a function of time, not distance.
Your other recommendation are too frequent, just stick with the manufacturer recommendation. I'm not referring to the dealership recommendation, they just want to make profit.
You have the right to replace it anytime you want. However, you are hurting our environment and our kids.
