My daughter is studying G10 in HK, planning to move back to Richmond Hill/Markham to study. I was told that she (born in Canada) has to pay intl student fee if mom/dad is not moving back to Canada with her. Any Canadian living in Hong Kong sent their kids back to Canada to study can share experience? Does anyone know if this is the new policy?
if you honestly tell the school board the parent won't be with them (under 16 age) then school board will charge you for international student fee. so most of the case, parent won't say anything... then with the proof of the residential address, they could be treated as local student to enjoy free education. for the public school
