什麼叫short vowel 和 long vowel? [複製鏈接]

最近學校要亞囡寫short vowel 和 long vowel的生字, 因自己不是大了解 short vowel long vowel, 應如何教導亞囡? 什麼又叫magic e?

short vowels are a e i o u
long vowels are ai ie ei ou etc.
magic e is when you change the words with 'e' at the end into 'ing' form, the magic e will be deleted, same case as change the words to 'ed' form.

意思是不是生字入面只有一個a e i o u就係short vowels
例如: cat, cow, rest, draw, when..

long vowels 是否要連繼兩個不同的a e i o u? 如果隔開是否long vowels?

elephant 是short vowel ?
mail 是long vowel ?

給我一點例子可以嗎?

另long vowel 就有句rule, the first one talks and the second one is silent?

cow 同 draw 係long vowels. 因為 w 發左 U 音。

隔開都有機會係LONG VOWELS 架，但 elephant 係 short vowels, 因為佢每個vowel 都係發短音。

e.g. ICE 應該係長音，因 I 佢發 “I”音，而唔係發 “yi" 音。

希望我無教錯你啦，睇下仲有無高人指正。

謝謝你! 又過咁咪要留意埋除a, e i, o u後的英文字的發音?? 好難! 可以教我簡單一點的方法教亞囡!!
