Vancouver doesn't have many activities during summer...or you have to register early in advance...as I believe schools will arrange summer camp for student...
In your situation, you may come to go to the public library and see what activity you child can fit in.
Most activities are in English and they dont have any english camp for overseas students.
if u remember me, I'm in Calgary... but I think it's the same in Vancouver.
as Grace said, i'm not sure if there are any 'english class' but definitely lots of summer camp. any one can join disregard ur nationality. but prob not that many for 3 yr old. check the city parks and recreation, ymca, zoo and stuff, there are lots of summer camp and activities for kids. and yes u have to register in advance because kids are out of school and all the parents wants to register them into something to keep them busy

Well, my nicole is too young for summer camp, be sure. My friend suggested me to take her to any usual day care so she will face native English speaking teacher and children every day this summer. And he is going to do the same for his lovely son, who is 4-year-old.
But after summer, she will be back to Hong Kong for traditional K1 education.
BTW, how are you in Calgary? Nicole will visit 'Pentiton' during summer. If possible, I wish to bring her to Bnaff too - but I am going to deliver soon so it might be only a fantasy.

yes, daycare is a good idea. but just be careful cuz there are a lots of daycare and the qualities really varies. make sure u got good reference. cuz i've been to some where they pretty much let u watch tv a lot of the times.
as i said b4, ymca is a good alturnative, if there's one around where u'll be staying.
wow, it'll be great to visit pendicton. lot's of 'u pick' over that area. ie pick your own fruit from the farm. depends what month u'll be goin, they have diff kind of fruits. cherries, peaches, nectarine! yum!!
if you are goin to banff, might as well drop by lake louise. or rather go to lake louise rather than banff. it's really pretty. and if u ever go far enough, ie to calgary, i'd love to have u guys over !
and when are u due? are u having baby in canada? that'll be great.... u know the government were just talking abt this earlier abt letting foreigners having kids here and getting citizenship.... or are u canadian alreay?
love you meet you in topics! I have a friend who is living in Sydney now and I put her son and daughter to 'day care'. It seems to me that the nunny just let her son and daughter watching TV only. Anyway, it is kind of hard to search for a good nunny in her neighborhood so this is her resort.
my hubby's friend is staying in Richmond. He is very familiar with these activities neighborhood. Unfortunately, this time we will be staying in West Vancouver, where his dad-in-laws usually stays (his dad will come back HK for summer that's why we will rent his flat for a few months). He needs some times to do research.
my hubby's also got a relative living in pendicton. parents-in-laws long to visit them and enjoy the fruits for several years (they had to stick in HK due to nicole). They are out of joy to know that my due is in late summer - perfect time to enjoy fruit.
i wish i could visit bnaff ... but it is not too likely. I've been in jasper twice (summer and winter) but bnaff once (in winter)... If I remember correctly, I've been visited Calgary before and stay a day to visit the zoo there. Then, driving a straight way to Edmonton - I've got a friend there. Waa... long time no see. more than 10+year.
I heard of the news about a month ago and that's good. Actually, I am more familiar to Canada than many other relatives :) but surprise - we are not citizen. my hubby failed the immigration because we don't satisfy the staying duration stated by Canada government. But in-laws are all Canadian and American.
