Almost Deadline to Renew 印印

我現在個印印在我家做了差不多四年. Three months ago, 她同other印印說要take rest, 所以唔會續約. So, I ask her whether she would renew her contract with me. She said she need to "think", I think she want to find a "better" job, 我便申請了一個新印印，now visa已ok 了, but my existing印印say she want to renew today.

請給我意見:
My existing 印印清潔, 烹飪ok, know my family well, know my requirement. Her day-off must be on Sunday, but she will boil water and wipe floor before she go out and will clean dishes and milk bottles after she is back. She has mobile phone, so sometimes she would disappear and hiding in her room in the middle of her work, say, she will do half of the dishes and disappear for 15 minutes. She knows my kids well, but not play with my kids as much now, as she has her mobile to talk . She wake up at 7 am, has her own room, no need to take care of kid during bedtime. I ask her not to hide in her room after dinner and should be staying in the living room to watch my kids. But, she keep hiding in her room and never come out after 9pm except asking by me. She even deny to come out when my son ask her to.

I understand everyone has thing to do, but she has her afternoon when both my kids are at school. I find her hiding in her room for at least two hours in the afternoon. So, I don't agree that she must be in her room after 9pm. I talk to her about this issue this morning and see if she would change.

One last thing, my mom doesn't like her that much. Like many BK mom here, my mother say I treat this maid better than her. (haha, jealous) So, if I keep this maid, my mother must have something to say.

The problem is if I get a new maid, everything is uncertain. I may risk getting a bad maid. If you were me, would you keep this OK maid?

According to your information, I don't think she is a "OK" maid. She ignored your request and stay in her room all the time.....

I cannot stand for her for using mobile phone. If I were you, I will not renew the contract with her and will use the new maid instead!!

You already signed the contract with the new maid, don't think too much la....use the new maid and say goodbye to the old one.

You may need to take risk, but it's much better. If you keep the old maid, she will think you can't live without her and she will become worse and worse!!

YuYuMother,
I agree that she is not that OK, but at least she dress properly on her day off, no sexy clothes. And she never black face me. Isn't it important?

I worry that her performance will be worse and worse after renew...

if i were you i won't renew the contract with her, i cannot accept my maid talking on her mobile during the working time or even at home, i allow her to talk on her mobile only when she go to the wet market or supermarket. and she always ignore your son and hide in her room it is not ok for me

A.) Keep this maid-100% BAD. Unhappy = RESULT.
B.) New maid- 50% BAD; 50% GOOD. Try your luck.

New news! My MIL say if I don't want the present maid, she will take her. What should I do? If I do not use her, I don't want her around la.

Why not refer to your mother in law? You can tell the truth to your maid, say she took too long to give you a confirmation and you already hire a new one, hopefully she understand and accept the situation. Even better she is not out of job, you MIL takes and you have a fallback (someone your kids familiar with) in case the new maid does not work out.

I think she is not that bad,but you must pay her "長期服務金" after another new contract. It is some money. You can think if it is worth or not?

I ask my miad if she want to renew contract or not. She give me a big smile and said--she need to think. So I think She like to renew contact but don't want to say yes. One week later, she told me she want to renew contract.

Is it your second or third contract with your maid? Does she talk on mobile phone?

If she continue to work for my MIL,she might think she is very good and my family can't live without her. If her performance worsen, MIL will blame me. :-( :-( :-(

It is my second contract with maid.
Does she talk on mobile phone?
Yes,But it is not as serious as your maid. Because she can go to club house and talk with other maids face by face.

GingerSo,

Does you mother knows the behaviour of this maid (i.e. talk on phone and don't attend to kids, etc), if so and if she still wants to employ her then she should bear the responsibility, unless of coz she is stubborn :)
