My BB was born in HK and we moved back to canada few months ago. First u need to do is to get the birth cert. of your child in HK la !! Then you will have to bring you and your husbund's Canadian passport copy and BB's birth cert. copy to HK Canada consulate to apply Canadian Citizenship for your BB first, the whole process for getting your BB's citizenship will be approx. 9mths to 12mths so u can tell the representatives that you will get the citizenship in Canada. Once you've helped your BB apply for citizenship, you will have a receipt and u bring your 1)receipt and 2)itinerary of your BB's flight details and 3)parent's canadian passport copy and 4)bb's birth cert. copy again to help her apply for a "Limited Validity Passport". They will not let you apply a passport for your BB until you helped him/her apply for the citizenship first. They also won't let you apply for the limited validity passport unless you have proof that BB is really travelling that's why they will need your itinerary of your BB's tickets. If you still don't understand then ask me again.
I guess 只要either 爸爸or媽媽有 Canadian Citizenship BB都可以apply for the Canadian Citizenship and passport. That's why my sister finally decided to stay in Hong Kong to deliver her baby just a month ago.
