Of course, when teething, it caused lot of discomfort.. try to comfort by carrying him, some people will use finger to massage baby's gum.....his body temp will increase and therefore become more irritated, very trouble that need more patient to care......but only a short period of time.....
my BB could sleep overnights since about his 7th weeks, now, he got two teeth and during the days the tooth growing up, he woke up at times.......anyway, when he go through that, he could sleep very well again even from last meal (7pm) to the next morning (at around 6:15am), so don't be too worry, add oil
