At 18-week pregnancy, the ultrasound technician said I'll be having a girl and she's about 95% confident as she saw the baby's genital area.

However, sometimes I still hesitate if I'll be really having a girl as my tummy's been lying low, etc.

I already thought about the girl's name. Should I also think about a boy's name as a back-up just in case ... ? However, it really takes time to come up with a name!

Should I really worry about this?

We're supposed to fill in the baby's name on the birth certificate before being discharged from the hospital. Otherwise, the baby will need to go get the birth certificate personally within 30 days after birth. Very inconvenient!

Congratulation ! There is still plenty of time before ur due date, let's no worry about it. I started thinking about my kid"s name only after 30 weeks ,haha, because i know I will keep changing my mind when there is still time. That is my weakness . Wish u have a healthy baby!

Lying low or high is not an indication of having a girl or boy although many people said so. My 2 pregnancies were the opposite based on the traditional Chinese saying. But, what the ultrasound reflected the truth. If it really bothers you, you should have a boy's name just in case. When I have my son, I have a girl's name chosen first because my hubby dreamed of having a girl. In my 2nd pregnancy, my hubby told me to choose a boy's name just in case. I did not really bother to find one as I felt the pregnancy very different to my 1st one and I felt that it's a girl. Turn out it's a girl. But, we spent a little bit to decide her middle name.

actually i don't have much time to think about any name now. only about 1 month from my scheduled delivery date!
and i'm still not quite ready yet. still a lot of things need to be prepared! so actually i don't have the "mood" and time to think of another name for boy as a back-up! yesterday i'd spend almost an hour to brainstorm about a boy's name but couldn't think of any ...

it's true that my two pregnancies are very different (e.g. last time i didn't throw up at all when i carried my boy, this time i had nausea and vomiting thru the 2nd trimester). however, the "outlook" of my tummy might be pretty much about the same.

我pregnancy 果陣都有諗定一個男仔名，一個女仔名.

i did pick both boy's and girl's name for my old one too, as i had much more time when i didn't have any kids at that time. also, we didn't try to find out the gender of the baby last time until the ultrasound technician told us after 33-week.

this time although the ultrasound technician said it'll be a girl, sometimes i still hesitated, becoz i heard about a few cases that people ended up have boys instead!
