Where do you get the 禁區紙? Both the "Brother Fat" and "Mr. and Mrs. Lai" are quite "inch". Do you have a third telephone.
There were many yellow butterfly fishes in prior years at the site I mentioned but they disappeared this year. Some people may hunt there.

There is a coral reef next to the small pier. 100m X 10m. The width is 10m only as the slope is quite steep. Visibility is 2-4 meters only (depends on weather). Quite poor. No coral fish.
Another coral reef is 1km from the pier. You have to hire a motor boat to get there. Reef size is 100m X 40m. Visibility is 3-8 meters. Reef depth is 1m to 7m at low tide. The seabed is 90% covered by coral with scattered sand bed. Many coral fishes in last and prior years but now I can find fishes and Shek Ban only. If you are a beginner, you can find no Shek Ban because they have the same colour as coral and they swim among coral. This is the best site in HK and it is better than most of the sites which group tours take you to in SE Asia.
Another site is 2km from the pier. However, it is worse than the second site.
If you have small kid, the first site is the only choice. I have a rubber boat, I can go to the second site with my 6 yrs old boy.
If you have interest, I can teach you to choose the right time for clear water.
Boats wait at the pier. Very easy to hire. 40/head for dropping and picking you up. You can arrange the time for picking up.
Boat is not allowed to enter into the reef. You have to jump into the water and swim to the coast (40-50m).
Compare with most of SE Asia site, less fish and more coral.
I have some pictures but not digital. You know, housing for camera is very expensive. I only use old fashion under-water film camera. Only cost me HKD200.

Normally, I play scuba diving. But it's need so much time for the boat travel, and clean the gear after. So it's hard to keep go dive anymore after I son and daughter born. :-(
On the other hand I also interesting for the snorkeling.
Your pix are so superb. However, your gear is so advanced to me as I'm just want to have a casual snorkeling. So if you arrange such activity, I wanna to join.
Agree. I like snorkeling more than scuba diving because it is more casual and do not need to join the dive shops or tours and drop my sons.

Up to now just three (included me) divers/family interesting for snorkeling. And I'm so busy cos my daughter just 7 months old.... So I think it's too hard to arrange the snorkeling day in this year wor... :-(

I also a advance diver already. but my wife never try to dive! So I need to get the permit from her before I arrange a dive day for me. :-(
