if u want to employ the phillipine maid with u grad qualification, in my experience, they really don't want to do, like to argue & not follow instructions.of course, if u , maybe better.U can try, just like lucky draw.
Thanks for sharing! How about the 2nd one ? Is she also fresh without working experience? How do u teach her?
How long did she take to apply working in Canada?
the 2nd one is also fresh without oversea experience. When she arrived, I gave her the rules and regulations, the electrical appliances usage document and the working schedule (this document I've already posted in the "論盡家傭精華區") and asked her to read and sign off.
I didn't teach her how to clean the house. I just told her what to use (detergent and cleaning cloth) and asked her to clean it. I watched her finished cleaning, e.g toilet, then I told her what she missed and how should it be done. Then the next day I will watch again. For ironing and laundry, I did the same. Within one week, she picked up cleaning, ironing, laundry and other household work.
For cooking, it is more time consuming. I showed her the basic technique of cooking Chinese dishes. I showed her slowly so she could write down notes on her notebook. Then asked her to do it the next day. When she was doing it, remind her. She know the technique within 2 weeks. And I will tell her my comment on the taste whether its too salty or its overcooked etc. every time after she cooked. May be she's smart. She also picked up cooking within 3 weeks.
Then I gave her an appraisal every month on the pay-day, told her what I was appreciated and what had to be improved. That's all. She just came for 3 months and so far so good.
It needs 6 -12 months for a maid to apply to Canada.
