IF possible, take a few days off in the first week to teach her how to buy food, use household cleaning supplies and cook simple dishes. Buy a tri-lingual cook book and write down your own recipes.
My Singapore trained maid said she knew everything and used my laundry powder to clean the bathroom!!! Don't assume she knows what cleaning products are for even if she says so. You will be shocked.
Beware of the mircrowave: no metal, no plastic, no hot oil. My Middle East trained maid nearly set fire to my kitchen!
