Wireless cam /wire cam

Is that the wire cam better than wireless? If I want to install 2 -3 cams, which one is better?

我覺得wireless勝在唔駛拉線lor，WiFi 802.11g 已經有54Mbps，速度方面比有線差無幾，不過就貴好多喎！功能方面應該冇mud大分別，反而睇型號品牌。

請問邊隻wireless cam 好? 幾$$ 是否接收器駁电腦就可? wireless cam 放邊都可? storage 幾大? store 係电腦 or 有其他硬件配套? 唔好意思咁多問題.....

無論是否wireless，功能都係差唔多。要知道雖然是wireless，一般亦要提供電源，所以亦要拉住條電線。而家有一種叫Homeplug既網絡，透過家中電掣組成一個網絡，不須另外拉線，所以就算係wired亦很方便。

要知道若你家中未有wireless router，你就要另買，價錢有平有貴，約$350起。

有一種叫IP-Cam既，內置自已既web server，唔須接電腦，你只需在外面用普通web browser已可收看。

wireless cam 大牌子有Sony、Panasonic等，絕對係名牌價錢，約$3000左右，聽說錄影功能要另計，有些土砲亦有唔錯既功能，而且價錢比較合符我的負擔能力。

最近我買了一款可以錄影，要錄影只須在你收看的那邊操控，storage亦由收看的那邊提供，亦不須特別硬件，但可能要裝一種叫codec既軟件，網上可免費下載。

當然亦有較專業較高檔的，可支援多枝鏡頭，高解像，等等等等、、

As suggested by junkone, you could consider using HomePlug. If you want to install 3 cams, you need to buy 4 HomePlug, which each one costs around $3xx-4xx.

Total cost could be cheaper than buying wireless cam.

I'm using
- Panasonic BL-C10 (wired) $1680
- Level One HomePlug PLI-2010 ($699 for two)

But after using for two weeks, I need to send the HomePlug to vendor for checking as sometime it cannot be connected.

May I know more about the HomePlug? Does its function like a modem?
I bought a same webcam with you, but cannot install even I already used a router. Did you get any problem (e.g. Broadband?) for installation?

是利用家中電力線路來接駁網路的產品，簡單來說，必需要一對買，你可用其中一隻插在書房隻router或電腦與牆上的電制接駁，另外一隻就駁到你廳中的IP cam與附近的電制，咁個ip cam就會經過你屋企既電力線路接駁至router或電腦，就造成好似wireless既效果，既方便，又不怕wireless signal被盜，因有效範圍只限屋內，連拖版也support，個人覺得不錯，只是貴了點點．

有線冇線都好，買cam要注意要有下列功能：
- 遙控鏡頭位置(上下左右移動)
- 內置web server
- 電腦數碼錄影
- 異動偵測(motion detect)
- 時間限制
- 密碼登入
- 支援DDNS
- 廣角鏡(wide angle)

My husband said he can only view the CAM in home PC after installation. When he tried to set the personal IP address and login, it is unauthorised. Actually I am not sure what's the problem, becasue I am a "wire fool". So we can't view from internet, it's no meaning in using it without such function! When I bought the router, the staff told me it's ok for my CAM (same shop for CAM and router), so I suppose it works wor, maybe I need to check again about this problem.
