renew passport is their onw responsibility, but it requires to do in weekdays, mine just finished renewal, the fee should be paid by themselves.
Renewal contract and passport is separate things, I think renewal contract can do in mid dec but for safety, you can check with your agent or consulate.
Besides, if you don't want to renew the contact, don't let her know, and say to her it depends her performance, see how she work in these few months, otherwise she will detoriate.
