I went to catholic school myself and my sister went to public, we think both are good as long as you pick a good area.
Woodbine/16th係中上好區, 我都係嗰頭北上多少少. Catholic elementary school 應係St Monica(or depends on which street you are on, east or west of woodbine, north or south of 16th may go to different school), high school is St Augustin.
My son is 5.5 yrs old and my daughter is 3.5 yrs old now. I'm planning if we really move back to Canada, should be after 2 years (the earliest I think).
My two kids are in private school for now, planning to put them back in catholic school after ... Maybe grade 2. Private school program is more advanced, but lots of $, about $1000 cdn per month
It really depends on the kids and also if the parents encourage them.
Like my kids, all their friends speak English at home, but mine don't. They watch Chinese 劇集&新聞... Of course they also watch English tv, but at least they are not 抗拒中文
