Average admin charge is 5% p.a. regardless you gain or loss money in your plan. I bought for almost 2 years, funds are performing ok, so, it's OK for the moment. Major benefit is no bid & offer, so in net, you may gain some benefit out of it.

The most important thing is stop payment will lose a lot as the admin. charge plus management fee still charge you a lot. e.g. if you join 10 year plan, the ideal case is non-stop payment because the cost is so high :idea:
i also bought the AIA fund for three months, so far the profit is much much better than saving account's interest. My agent suggested me to buy three different kinds and each from low/medium/high rish level fund as it was 'not good to puy all the eggs in one basket'.
