早前於BEA做RMB定期(匯上大陸),有3.1%息,都OK!三個月都有7千多玩利息,可以考量下!

1/2 year not many choices, rather not do any investment. for a min. of 2 years, you can buy bond (min USD0.1m investment). e.g. PCCW bond yield is around 6%, #267 bond around 8-9%. some chinese prop bonds as high as 3x% pa (but risky as these cos. may go bankrupt).

The actual effective interest rate will be much lower as you need to pay premium for buying any bonds in 2nd market.

Taking the example of PCCW-HKT Cap No. 3 Bond with 5.25% coupon rate, you need to pay around 5% above the par value hence the actual yield is around 3.6% only. However, this bond only gets a Moody's rating of Baa2.

Reference for Moody's ratings for investment grade:
Aaa -> Aa1 -> Aa2 -> Aa3 -> A1 -> A2 -> A3 -> Baa1 -> Baa2 -> Baa3
