As my baby refused to have direct breast feed, I used to pump the milk out. However, I found that my milk is pale green in colour. Does anyone has such experience before?
Besides, my supply of milk has been dropped significantly. Two weeks ago, I can pump 12 oz of milk for my baby during lunch time. Last week, it drop to 6 oz and today I can hardly squeeze 1 oz. Though I have been drinking milk and fish soup, the condition is getting worse. No more milk... may need to give up breast feed la... :cry:
For colour of milk, I'm not too sure.
I suppose it's a normal variant?
You know, the volume of breastmilk can be affected by so many different factors. Maybe you're just too anxious and it's turned into a vicious cycle.
Do you pump in the office during lunch hours? Yes, I found it's harder to pump milk in the office today because the environment isn't as comfortable as it is at home.
Maybe you can try pumping at night-times coz' we have more of the hormone prolactin at night --> secrete more milk.
Your anxious emotion or using single pump also influence the pumping outcome. Double pumps can be more effective to stimulate the let down.
Also, I highly recommend you to pump milk at 2 or 3am, milk production during midnight is the peak.

Hayes had been breastfeeding for almost 3 years, then naturally weaned by himself！
If I was sick/starting to get sick, my milk would be a bit pale green in color. At the beginning, i didn't know so I threw away my pale green milk... then I knew it was actually good milk because it should contain lots of antibodies.
I also have to throw away some milk because daughter wouldn't take much from the bottle, like 1oz every 5hrs! So I've the maid threw out the milk after taking out of the fridge for one hour. :-( I only have her warm up 2oz at a time... my daughter is almost 6 months la.)
My milk colour become pale green since I was sick in Mid Autumn Festival. As I have taken some antibiotic, I am afraid that the colour is due to medicine and throw them away while on medication. :(
Up to now, the milk colour is still pale green in colour... fortunately, I continue to feed the baby after medication (but only 1 bottle a day).
My baby is now 6 months old. He cried whenever I try to breast feed him direct (no matter he is awake or sleepy) and refuse to take it. So... I have to pump the milk out.
Before I used to use double pump to pump the milk. But now, I hardly pump any out and I have to use my hands to squeeze the milk out but I can only make 2-3 oz a day. I also understand that pumping more will activate milk supply. However, as I have another kid of 2 old, it is very hard to spare time to pump milk at home.
Just try my best la.... having a few is better than none la...
