As I'm taking medicine because of some illness now, therefore, I have no choice to stop breastfeeding my baby (I have been bf him for 5 months).
And I don't have much milk left over in the fridge, it probably could only last for 1 - 2 days. I'm urgently want to know how could I subsitute breast milk by formula milk in this short period of time.
5 days medicine. My husband advised me not to continue bf as he found that I put lots of pressure on myself. But of course, I want to continue.....esp. my 1st time to feed formula milk to bb today & he refused drinking. Really don't know how it works.....
what's difference if continue or not continue bfeeding ?
if you really want to continue on breastfeeding (which you should), you may pump out your milk (more frequently if you can) and disgard them or wash your hands w/ it. pumping out wl let your brain know that you still need the milk. otherwise, your milk supply will decrease very quickly.
I agree with the other mamas.
Of course, you shouldn't let this illness prevent you from breastfeeding.
It's not a long time. Just continue pumping out your breastmilk to keep the flow going while you substitute your BB's milk with formula for these few days. Then, everything will resume normal soon!
