They often say that the plastic material of the bottles releases toxic substances, so we need to change a new set of bottles for BB once every 3-4 months.
How about the breast pump? I use Avent. It's also made of plastic. But it seems such a waste to change it...
Do you all change your pumps every few months or so?
Don't worry, the material used for nowadays' bottles is "polycarbonate". Unlike normal plastic, it is more durable, high impact strenght and odour-free. Hence, it should not release toxic substances as normall plastic does. Conclusion is : not necessary to change over 3-4 months' period.
