I just back from Koh Samui last Friday!!
I spent 5 days in Koh Samui from Oct 17 ~ Oct 21.... My husband, me and my 3 years old son.

The trip is quite good and peaceful.
But is a rainny season now... but lucky out timing is perfect, during all our activity time the weather was just cloudy, once back to hotel it's start a heavy rain...

We were staying in Central Samui Village, is far away from the 鬧市, it took around 30 mins by shuttle bus, but we love the peaceful life there.

Any question? I think I still very fresh, I can be able to check if you got any question for Koh Samui. ha ahaha....

Dear eeefff0307,

I'm also planning to go to Koh Samui with my family in Dec. Do you know whether it is still their rainy season?

Did you go by the direct flight by Bangkok Airway? If yes, is the plane OK?

While I think the major activity would be palying the the beach and hotel pool, are there any other spots that worth visiting?

If you have kid with you, elephant trekking is an interesting experience to both of you. If you like snorkelling, join tour to Koh Tao (island) but it takes you 1 whole day for this tour and have to cut your pool time short. About hotel, dont waste time on travelling for dine, choose one in Chaweng beach and chaweng beach is the most beautiful among all.

I've been to elephant trekking, three of us were very excited. I went to Koh Tao, but my schedule from 9:30am departure from Hotel back to Hotel at 2:30pm, my Hotel is located far from Chaweng beach but is near to ferry pier, it took only 10mins from hotel to pier. Therefore I still enjoyed my time swimming in hotel. After that by shuttle bus to Chaweng beach for dinner at around 5pm.

Yes, Chaweng beach is the most beautiful and all the restaurant are nearby.

One more point to remind, don't exchange your money in airport the rate is much lower from the money exchange at Chaweng. I changed in Airport 4.6 two days after I changed in Chaweng there the rate was 5.16 .

Eeee... Mamimu.. when did you spend your holiday in Koh Samui? Which hotel you were staying? Nice trip??

My Samui trip was in August and we stayed at Central Samui Resort. It once rained from the evening of the first night we arrived and we worried that the rain would not stop. Luckily it was half cloudy then turned to shiny the morning the other day.

Did you find the foods do not really suit Chinese appetite . Almost all is grilled food. :-|
Will you travel Samui again? My little and hubby miss the beach very much.

I was staying in Central Samui Village which is the same group of Central Samui Resort. I just back from Koh Samui two week ago, Oct 17 ~ Oct 21.

Since the same group, if we shows our hotel card there we can use the swimming pool and take the towel from there, ha ha quite good.
