Are u saying that your car engine is damaged due to negligence of the car mechanics engineer.
You may ask for reimbursement through the Small Claim Tribunal. It takes approximately 4 months. You have to submit a claim through the small claim tribunal (at about HK$ 100.00 depends on the amount of claim), the first hearing is about 2 months thereafter with basic reasons of the claim, the second hearing is about another 1 month later with details of defendent (registered name and address to make sure you are sueing the correct party) and evidents submitted, the final judgement will be in front of the plaintiff, defendent and the judge about another 1 month later. The Judge will try to convince the plaintiff and the defendent to settle the dispute all the time before making of his own judgement as both of you may suffer from lost of time and money during the process.
The cost of claim is the said appr. HK$ 100.00 plus the defendent cost in the said claim (the defendent's salary and travel expenses for the hearing) in case the judgement is your claim is not valid.
